A "Lite" mode with the v2.3.2

by TooDo last modified 2009-01-07 18:54

This release introduces a "lite" mode, which should make end-users looking for a very simple task management application happy. This is still beta and deserves a wizard at start-up when you first run TooDo, which asks what in what mode to run.

Here are the changes.

  • "Lite" mode: it is now available through the "Dashboard" screen via the "Enter/Leave Lite mode" button. In "lite" mode, the startup screen of TooDo is the list of tasks, and you cannot access to categories nor contexts. Synchronization and geo-notfications are not available in that mode. You can discuss the "lite" version features through that discussion thread. When upgrading to that version, a new to-do is created with a reminder, as a kind of tip-of-the-day
  • Smart folder filter criteria: it is now possible to select multiple categories, instead of just one. This makes smart folders much more interesting, since you can create shortcuts directly on the Android home screen
  • Application size: the installation bundle has been reduced to 880 KB, and eventually the application takes 1.5 MB on the main memory storage. The Android reports 2 MB because it rounds the figure. Compared to the v2.2.0, TooDo has divided its size by a factor of 2
  • "Settings" screen: new sub-screens have been introduced, in order to ease the customization
  • "TooDo: Add" icon shorcut: it is now possible to create an Android home screen icon as a shortcut for creating a to-do. The option is available through the "Settings" screen, via the "To-do add shortcut" entry
  • To-do modification screen: the "Dates" tab has been revisited, so as to make the due date and remind dates easier to set up. What's more, a bug has been fixed: when changing the date, the time minutes was mistakenly modified
