Better UI with the v2.1.8
This new version mainly focused on the enhancement of the application user interface. It also provides some additional minor features, and fixes some reported bugs. Thank you for the great feedback!
We know that some of you are complaining about TooDo crashing: we are very eager to help you, but we need that you report the conditions of the problem. Please, report the problem and ask for some support here.
Here comes the changes:
- Main screen: the main screen now contains the three to-dos, categories, contexts lists, and the home screen. This should make the navigation easier. If you had set a TooDo shortcut on your Android desktop, please consider removing it and replacing it with the latest TooDo icon available in the Android "Applications" screen instead, because the old one is deprecated
- To-dos list screen: removed the author portrait, since it does not help much for the moment
- Icons: most of the menu icons have been grayed, in order to be more compliant with the Android look & feel
- Settings icon: there is now a preferences shortcut icon, which is there for allowing end-users to reset the application in case of failure (this should be eventually removed). Please, use the "Reset" button if TooDo cannot be started anymore: this will erase the data, but you should be able to use TooDo back. Only do that provided the author has suggested you to do that
- Help menu: a new help entry is now available and redirects the end-user to the TooDo support site
- To-do modification screen: the "Apply settings" check-box has been shifted to the "Dates" tab, renamed as "Propagate category settings", and turned into a button. This fixes the bug of the bad category remind settings propagation
- Default category: there is now a default category in the "Settings" screen, which is used at to-do creation. This answers the need for some end-users
- Default sounds: the default sounds no longer loop. This partially fixes the problem of the reminder never ending, in case you have left your Android device somewhere and do not want to bother others ;)
- RTM to-dos with no due-time: there is now an option in the settings screen, which lets you decide whether a reminder should be set when importing RTM tasks with no due time (but a due date)
- Insistent reminder: there is a new setting, which lets the end-user decide whether "important" and "paramount" to-do notifications should loop for ever or not. With this flag off, if you do not select a looping ringtone/file sound as a reminder — the default ones ("Preset Sound" option) are guarantied not to loop — you are ensured that you Android device will end after the reminding sound has been played once
