What is synchronized, what is not

TooDo attempts to synchronize as many items as possible with RTM. However, there are some limitations, mostly due to the fact that TooDo offers items that are not available on RTM and vice versa. Here is the list of items which are not synchronized:

• recurring task settings: currently, TooDo does not support recurring tasks, and when a to-do corresponding to a RTM recurring task is marked as completed in TooDo, it will remain uncompleted in RTM, since you cannot complete a recurring task in RTM
• audio, image, video notes: they only live on TooDo's side. However, textual notes are synchronized
• categories description and settings: TooDo categories are mapped as RTM lists, which only have a name. Hence, all the categories settings only live on TooDo's side
• remind date: since RTM does not offer a per task reminding date feature and TooDo does, it marks any task — created in RTM with a remind date, and imported in TooDo — with a remind date computed from the category it belongs to default remind settings. Please, edit the categories to customize the remind settings
• location: at the moment, even if TooDo offers the opportunity to define zones that will indicate when to trigger a notification, it does not have the notion of locations list. Hence, the RTM location is not synchronized for the moment. This is definitively a thing that we are considering and that will be available in the future
• smart lists: for the moment, TooDo does not support smart lists, and when selecting a smart list, this may be a cause of synchronization failure. For "normal" RTM lists, they are mapped as TooDo categories

Everything which is not mentionned here is supposed to be synchronized.

Priority mapping

Here is the way the priorities in RTM are mapped in TooDo:

• "No priority" in RTM is mapped to "Low" (blue flag) in TooDo
• "Priority 3" in RTM is mapped to "Normal" (green flag) in TooDo
• "Priority 2" in RTM is mapped to "Important" (orange flag) in TooDo
• "Prioriry 1" in RTM is mapped to "Paramount" (red flag) in TooDo

The specific case of contexts

From v2.4.2, RTM tags starting with a "@" are mapped to TooDo contexts, and reversely. Note that a TooDo context with a name containing spaces is mapped to a RTM tag where its label will replace the space with an underscore "_". Moreover, you do not need, and should not use the "@" prefix on a TooDo context, because this "@" will be prepended to the RTM corresponding task tag when synchronizing.
